Train: Paris ---> Amsterdam

  The train we were on was a TGV train, which is a high-speed rail so we went from Paris to Amsterdam in just over three hours. I fell asleep for part of the train, I was still feeling a bit jet lagged.

We arrived in Amsterdam around 9pm and it seemed as if the sun wasn’t even close to setting. After we got to the apartment we were staying at we went on a search for dinner. We wandered around a little bit heading towards a place called the Dam, which is a touristy area that has a lot of bars and restaurants. It also has a large obelisk like sculpture in memoriam for all the Dutch victims of the Holocaust. We ended up eating at an Argentinean restaurant where we both ordered a steak. We had asked the person we were staying with if he knew of any good places to get traditional Dutch food and were informed that funnily enough, there are really only four authentic Dutch restaurants in all of Amsterdam and it would be easier for us to find food elsewhere.

We were both pretty wiped so after dinner around 10:30 we headed back to the apartment while it was still light out. It seems the sun fully sets in Amsterdam around 11pm.

PS: These were the stairs at the apartment
